Mission Amarillo's

Be-Loved House

The biggest obstacle in life for many of the moms in our Be-Loved program is their living situation. To address this issue, Mission Amarillo has purchased a duplex and is designing a new program around it. The house requires extensive renovations to make it into a safe, nice home for deserving moms - to join us in restoring it and changing lives, you can give financially at the link below! Check out the information below to understand more about Be-Loved House.

Mission of the Be-Loved House

"Helping moms focus on their future rather than just survive the present."

We are excited to announce a new program to help mom's in our Be-Loved program.

The Problem

For many of our moms, the biggest obstacle for them accomplishing their goals is their living situation. Instability caused by domestic violence, drug use, or financial instability of those they live with can disrupt their lives to a point that finding a stable place to live takes precedence over their education and career goals. This can disrupt an entire semester and put independence and stability even further away.

A Solution

To address this issue, Mission Amarillo has purchased a duplex and will design an entire program around it. Ladies living in this duplex will receive reduced rent and practical training in various life skills that will prepare them to thrive once they move into their own place. Ladies will be able to live there for up to 2 years. We will save the rent they pay to match any money they save in the bank up to $2,000.

Another Problem

The duplex we have purchased will require extensive renovations before we can house ladies there. We have begun a capital campaign to fund these renovations in the coming days. If you would like to help us fund these renovations, you can securely give at this donation portal.

We are Grateful for Your Help

If you have questions about the project, feel free to contact Jeff Parsons (jeff@missionamarillo.org) or our Be-Loved Director, Whittney Grizzle at whittney@missionamarillo.org. You can also call us at (806) 553-0408.

Our Goal

We hope to begin housing moms late summer of this year. Both your prayers and financial support would be appreciated as we work hard to achieve this!

“I love that I can meet other teen moms, I’m not the only one whose been through it.”

Be-Loved

Mom

I joined Be-Loved because I needed to be around others going through what I was. The young women who were strangers eventually became family to me and my babies.

Be-Loved

Mom

“I get feedback from my mentor, and she’s not someone who’s only going to tell me what I want to hear.”-

Be-Loved

Mom

“I value the ability for the mentor to navigate her relationship with her mentee without a lot of pressure of a curriculum or lessons that have to be strictly followed. It’s so great that our relationship can grow and develop naturally and really be focused on the specific needs of the mom.”

Be-Loved

Mentor

“Through mentorship I get to pray and watch my mentee grow. It’s rewarding, like motherhood except these mommas are our peers. My mentee is more like a little sister."
