Each summer, Mission Amarillo hosts mission groups who conduct Summer Kids Clubs on properties throughout Amarillo. Groups will minister in communities where residents would not otherwise hear the gospel. If we don’t go, they won’t experience the love and grace of Jesus. In 2013, we will accept mission groups from June 3-July 26. You will be doing Summer Kids Clubs at affordable housing communities and inner city churches throughout the Amarillo area. Groups typically arrive on Sunday and do the clubs Monday-Thursday. You will have the option of doing two clubs a day or one club and a work project. The work project is typically done in the morning with the Kids Club either being done in the afternoon or evening, whichever works best for your group.
Groups doing 2 clubs a day will start at their apartment community no earlier than 10:30 in order to allow the kids at these communities to be up and ready to go. Work projects will start by at least 9:30, earlier if the group leader prefers. Work projects will range from painting a church, to working in a thrift store, to doing minor maintenance on an inner city home. Just let us know what fits your group and we will do our best to find an appropriate project.
Mission Amarillo will provide everything you need to do a club, including snacks, game items, craft bins, curriculum, as well as items for water games. The curriculum will be provided on this website by early May 2013 and everything else you need to do the clubs will be ready for you when you arrive on Sunday.
