We are currently accepting groups for Spring Break March 16-19, 2015. You will be doing Spring Break Kids Clubs at affordable housing communities and inner city churches throughout the Amarillo area. Groups typically arrive on Sunday and do the clubs Monday-Thursday. All groups during Spring Break will do a work project in the morning and a Kids Club in the afternoon. Mission Amarillo will provide a $1 lunch each weekday your group is working. This meal will be served at the Amarillo College BSM building on 2123 S Van Buren.
Morning work projects could range from working in a thrift store, doing minor maintenance in a church, to working on an inner city home. Just let us know what type of work project will be appropriate for your group and we will find something that they can do. Spring Break Kids Clubs will be conducted each afternoon at an affordable housing community or church. Two weeks before your arrival, Mission Amarillo will provide you with the names and addresses of the locations you’ll work so you can map them or use them with a GPS.
Mission Amarillo will provide everything you need to do a club, including snacks, game items, craft bins, and curriculum. As I’ve mentioned, the curriculum will be provided on the website and everything else you need to do the clubs will be ready for you when you arrive on Sunday. Curriculum for Spring Break will be posted to this site by mid-February.
